April 20
- Ice Age adventures (9-12 years), 1.15pm-3pm, $8 per child. Georges River Council event. Hurstville Museum & Gallery. Which creatures lived during the Ice Age? Join to discover more about this very cool time period and create some Ice Age creatures. Two sessions will be held. Details: 9330 6444.
- Battle of the Bands - Sutherland Shire Council event, 6pm-9pm, Sutherland Arts Theatre. Enjoy performances from up-and-coming young musicians in Sutherland Shire. Watch bands and solo artists compete to win Battle of the Bands and a chance to perform at Battle of the Bridges. This event is part of Youth Week celebrations.
- 5:30pm-7:30pm, Sutherland Library. Have you ever wondered what happens at the library after dark? Find out at the Glow Party After Dark. Join for an electrifying celebration of Youth Week, when Sutherland Library transformed into a neon wonderland. The night comes alive with retro beats, colours, games and unforgettable memories with mates (old and new). Dress in your brightest neon or white ensemble and step into a world of 'glow-tastic' fun. Expect glow-in-the-dark face paint, neon accessories, funky giveaways, pizza and sugary snacks as we light up the night. They will be prizes for best dressed. Suitable for ages 12-18 years.
April 23
- Outreach, 3:30pm - 7:30pm, Guess Avenue Park, Wolli Creek. Enjoy various activities including basketball, table tennis, badminton, lawn games and more. Snacks included.
- 5:30pm-7:00pm, Manooka Pl, Kirrawee. Join for an exciting evening of spotlighting at Joseph Banks Native Plant Reserve. This in-person event enables you to explore the reserve at night and observe the unique flora and fauna that come alive after dark. Knowledgeable guides will lead you on a thrilling adventure through the reserve, pointing out hidden gems along the way. BYO torches. Children younger than the age of 18 are to be accompanied by an adult. Enclosed shoes are essential.
April 24
- Kids cupcake decorating $15 at Cronulla RSL.
- Free family movies: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, 11am, Georges River Council event, Civic Theatre, Hurstville Entertainment Centre. After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers. Their new friend, April O'Neil, helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.
- ANZAC Day (5-8 years) 10.15am-midday, $8 per child, Hurstville Museum & Gallery, Georges River Council event. Learn about the legend of the ANZAC and create poppy inspired art. Two sessions will be held.
April 26
- 2pm-4pm, Learn a new fun skill with other young people. Free Electronic Beat Making Workshop for high school students who live or go to school in Sutherland Shire. Use a variety of professional programs to write and record your own original song. Be creative. Try something new. Delivered by renowned music and multi-media agency, Heaps Decent. Bookings required. Places limited. Organised by The Family Co.
